Yes, this is what bothers me, that the sentence was meted out too quickly... A trial where he had to answer for his deeds followed by a few years in line (death row) to the gallows would have been better.

The explanation may lie in the fact that Trump, as a notorious liar, after a while begins to believe his own lies. If someone were to set up a cabinet of horrors of particularly lousy and hideous presidents in the United States, Trump should have an extra prominent placement.
