Terrible at all videogames.
Tried a bit of Star Trek Generations (the windows-95 era Game of the Film). Fascinating mix of first person shooting and puzzle solving, but unforgiving combat and a terrible interface that takes up 40% of the screen. Not sure if I'll tought it out for long enough to warrant a proper review.

Trying Doom 2016 again after ragequitting earlier this year. Wish me luck!

Morrowind update - sneak+chameleon is kind of hilarious. Basically just stroll up to people, right out in the open, and drop them in one hit.

funny how I used to be an earlier adopter with new versions of windows, but am now dragging my heals on leaving win10 behind. Possibly just because i spent a lot of time arranging all those little start menu tiles just the way I want them....

Morrowind update - visiting Solstheim for the first time in many, many years. I remember I used to walk around staring at the ground because all the trees utterly killled the framerate on whatever underpowered PC I was using. Nice to now actually look where I'm going.

Wife and Sister-in-Law were discussing suitability of Taylor Swift for young kids. Can I just point out there is almost no profanity in Iron Maiden songs!

Heretic and Hexen remastered on gog and elsewhere - hi rez graphics, unified launcher, cross-platform deathmatch. Free if you already owned previous releases. Basically the same treatment Doom got last year. Fantastic!

Started Space Quest V, was a bit wary as IV just annoyed me. But so far, no totally unfair deaths or unwinnable situations.

On a related note, it's still weird that we haven't seen more classic point and click adventures ported to mobile devices.

Currently trying to figure out how the latest remaster of broken sword differs from the 2009 version, and if it's worth getting.

Replaying Morrowind, I notice how the world isn't actually all that huge. It just uses difficult terrain, particularly those ravines in the volcanic areas, to push you towards taking indirect routes.

Started playing Morrowind again using Kezyma's modlist. No new content, just better graphics and a whole bunch of little quality-of-life improvements.

tbh I'd be more interested in a Morrowind remaster than Oblivion, but I imagine that would involve a lot more work.

I've started playing through relatively obscure 90s shooter Strife. Impressed so far, it's ambitious in what it tries to accomplish with the Doom engine.

Welp 9 years late I finished Dishonored 2 and it's fantastic. A spiritual successor to the Thief games of old, with all sorts of clever tricks and and features added to the formula.
