In Southern California. Reply more than I post. 1/2 serious posts. 1/2 jokes. On the left, but probably either more left or not as left as you want. Utopia is for everyone's needs to be met sustainably.
Pic is unfairly maligned California delta smelt.
I should add the public charging that exists here includes fast charging.

The not being able to charge at the apartment is not a big deal, it's really not. Apartment plus EV can work VERY well. But my perspective is from California. We have charging stations here in abundance, if living somewhere where they don't build out the EV charging infrastructure it might suck.

yea, and that's basically flipping near the entire south blue. The man is unpopular but ... that's miracle territory.

so frequent reliable public transit in every town, waymo everywhere, or both?

I don't tend to predict U.S. foreign policy, as it's always bad, I don't like living in an empire, nor do I really know what to do about it. But the Greenland thing is next level nuts.
On domestic policy I have NO DOUBT Harris would be better in almost every possible area.

it's interesting that the one thing the ACA never tried to do, besides single payer, is REALLY decouple health insurance/healthcare from employment. Most of us are bound to jobs with health insurance, and whatever our employer offers, because it's the only remotely affordable way to get it.

Before: "60 minutes, ho hum ..."
Now: "it's my civic duty, I must watch the 60 minutes episode, it's my duty as a citizen to be informed"

2/3rds Dem majority in the Senate OR Republicans willing to vote with Dems to convict, because it needs 2/3s majority.
December 23, 2025 at 7:50 AM
well the slavery story is not actually referenced in any way, it's a social media post, it's not like it's a link to an article someone could read. "I say so" isn't going to convince anyone, especially of such a dubious conclusion.
December 23, 2025 at 12:52 AM
yea even if a stopped clock is right twice a day (and I have not looked into the story) you have to be brain damaged to post something like that, a functioning presidency, the stupid it burns.

kids will be in therapy forever, probably choose Hinduism themselves, or secularism, or else become grifters themselves like their old man.
December 22, 2025 at 9:40 PM
and then they might pull their head out of their ass only to conclude that Trump didn't go far enough (but surely JD Vance will be our savior)
December 22, 2025 at 9:31 PM
I read this as impeachment and removal from office, which means you need the house and 2/3s of the Senate, which means you likely likely need Republican voters to pressure congress.
December 22, 2025 at 9:25 PM
yea but I'm a Californian and the idea kind of makes me want to scream (frivolous scummy recall petitions, we all HATE them). Just shoot me.
December 22, 2025 at 7:58 PM
yea I think this country just really hates women Presidents specifically. It just can't see women in that type of leadership role (not endorsing that). Even then Hillary won the popular vote, but it didn't matter.
December 22, 2025 at 6:19 PM
I'm quite prepared to say the Kennedy tribe are net negative influence on the country, mostly they didn't live long enough to be otherwise, and now we have RFK Jr as the legacy.
December 21, 2025 at 9:12 PM
evangelicalism seems to be, it's the wild west, it's not part of any organized domination, it has no rules, hence lots of grifting. Look rules don't prevent all bad things, look at the Catholic church, but nonetheless that's what is going on with much of the religious right.

for the 3rd time I guess
December 21, 2025 at 8:52 PM
or you find out your are descended from a long line of barely even traceable peasants and are like "well I guess I've done ok for myself then" 😆
December 21, 2025 at 5:52 PM
"heritage American's" ancestors owned slaves, almost certainly. So some of their ancestors may even have fought against slavery, because that current ALSO EXISTED in the U.S.. But they owned slaves at one point almost certainly. Look noone is responsible for their ancestor, but just saying.

I could see the work being doing the research on an issue or whatever. I can even accept he has at one point done it on *some* issues maybe. He is just so out of his depth in his current pundit-ing though, that it's laughable. He needs to talk to someone who KNOWS SOMETHING, because it's absurd.
December 21, 2025 at 5:19 PM
no, but I have a career that isn't politics that pays the bills (I'm sure Yiggy is VASTLY wealthier, but if your only career option is politics and you have given up, and you have no other skills, I *guess* it's tempting? Even then though he could use his skills for better than this)

It's what the IRA did as far as I could understand it (heaven knows I tried) and it never fully added up as a strategy.
Of course, Biden and the IRA are WAY better than what we have now, which is pure destruction, but that's a different argument. Vote Dem, but we need better.
December 21, 2025 at 4:45 PM
he donated to Democrats. If he had donated to Republicans he would be free now.

I donated, should have upped my donation, I could have had a Jay Inslee mug. ☕
