At one point we were getting gradually more efficient in an acceptable way and that growth was stunted by Gen AI. Like I don't think anyone missed manual background removal and object selection. As long as the artist has control and decisions are being made intentionally without completing the job.

I'm not too technical in my knowledge of that but I think shadow regeneration, and relighting utilize some form of this.
As long as they are reputable in the way they operate I think it's a great tool in photo restoration and videography etc. It lets people create more.

The problem is it's not really possible to go backwards, only forward. There is a big difference from this and LLMs
Some are built to be tools that operate similar to complex filters or procedural gen.They aren't meant to replace the job, just do a specific specialized task and enhance the workflow.

I've had that too. I've seen it done to beginner artists, and amateur work with mistakes.
Photoshopped images, etc.
People working hard only to get hit with "AI slop" and have their work slandered.

I had people screaming for the mods to "ban my ass"
They're witch-hunts and it's infuriating

They have a version that works with images that's the inverse of what it does in games, it makes a more detailed image instead , it's pretty handy

It sucks Gen AI has people so scared it's literally become a negative blanket term for all things technology, even the reputable ones.
We have AI that's curing cancer right now, meanwhile we have people sending us back to the stone ages with bilinear scaling lol

I own the original copy so I'm not sure. I think DRM was removed entirely by Epic UT2004 was made completely free as of last year, similar to UT99.
Check oldunreal.com for future patches. They now maintain the game.
