Developing a cyberpunk game called The Incarnation of Hatsune Miku when I can. I'll occasionally commission random lewd rule 34 artwork. GenX, I'm old...

Sixth of the Dusk was uncharacteristically short for Sanderson but it's an interesting meditation on technology, society, and colonialism.

Agincourt was as good a look at real medieval warfare as Cornwell's Grail series, not sacrificing historical accuracy to tell a good story.

This I think was the exact one. 1992 or so, after Use Your Illusion came out.

Kalifornia was an interesting take on what full sensory entertainment (William Gibson called simstim, called Braindance in Cyberpunk 2077) might be like... reality TV and a means of control.

So now I'm trying to fix my sleeping schedule. After a few days with hardly any sleep and what I did get was at ridiculous times it looks like I got one night that seems reasonable. Hopefully I can keep this up.

I've been playing around with the big d20 to make up random multiplication and division problems for the paper slide rule to keep my mind off the trouble in the world today... 🫩

Warhawk's Sacrifice was a great space opera but I think I'm going to miss the original premise of a ship's crew living on the edge of the law.

Freedom™ gave a lot of food for thought. The quality of government by algorithm depends on who has control of the algorithm.

It's not theologically sound. It is foolish to so presume on God's goodness. He's like Shermy in that old Peanuts strip below, substituting God for Santa Claus.

So I bought a new Raspberry Pi Zero 2W core for the #Cyberdeck and now I²C is working. Maybe I should remove the red power LED on the board. I'm not sure how I managed to destroy the I²C function of the other RPi. 😟

You can buy a Thinkpad nipple separately. I bought a couple for my attempts at building cyberdecks. I was planning on desoldering that thing and hooking it up to my own microcontroller but haven't gotten around to it.

On Writing was an insightful look at Stephen King's process and philosophy about writing, including a lot of autobiographical notes as well.

One of the problems with the #Cyberdeck is that there is no way to monitor the battery. I was planning on using an ADC board with a voltage divider and current sensor but all of these things need I²C working and so far that's stubbornly broken. So I added a very small battery indicator LED & switch.

When Gravity Fails was a great cyberpunk murder mystery and really should be more well known than it is.

Infinity Blade Redemption felt like the third book in a series with a missing book 2. 😭 I was able to muddle through it but it was confusing.

So I was having trouble now getting the DS3231 ZS-02 module interfaced to the #cyberdeck... So I plugged the module into a #BusPirate (blue box with LEDs under the cyberdeck) and it's detected on an I²C bus scan. Seems there's more gremlins in the hardware. 🫩
