A person with real integrity answers the question.

Kirk’s professor watchlist (= hit list) website is still up. These educators’ lives have all been threatened. I support them leaving the US, although that move is a huge burden. What choice do they have?

I hope one day that everyone who has threatened them gets prosecuted!

I believe racist authoritarians attack public education precisely because it promotes an understanding of the other. Diversity of thought, race, culture, etc. is a threat to their monolithic ideology.

I don’t have a solution, but I do know we don’t really understand the dynamics of “otherism.”

I do think the source is psychological- emotional fear rather than rational. It’s true. Having an understanding of history isn’t enough.

Psychology and social sciences might have critical roles.

A theory: Across the earth, over history, there have always been people who fear, hate, then want to eliminate the “other.”

Understanding “otherism” is critical to developing better strategies to prevent it.

Education comes to mind.

They blame Democrats for jumping to (obvious) conclusions, but “no evidence at this time” only means the fire investigation has not been completed! Who’s jumping to conclusions now?
