Well, they've said that, whereas the beaked Sea Devils are "Homo Aqua", Salt and the others with actors' faces are "Homo Amphibia," which is just as taxonomically illiterate, but marginally less bad Latin, as it does use an adjective, even if the gender is wrong.
So there may be some hope.
