From the characterization in this book, I would totally believe that Cohen only bought the majority share in the Mets (and made massive donation to LaGuardia Community College) to ingratiate himself to the Flushing area of Queens so he could get his casino deal, which he now has.

The "Uncle Stevie" stuff never sat well with me, and reading this book is confirming my unease with giving this guy any positive attention for anything. His second wife, Alex, doesn't come off very well either so far.
