The original word for the animal we today call “bear” was abandoned since people used to think saying their name could summon them. Instead they referred to them as “bear” which is an old word meaning “the brown one”

I’m gonna toss out something vaguely similar that I haven’t seen mentioned, Chulip. Pretty odd game but definitely has a vague slice of life thing going on.

I remember I had to have a fully separate memory card for the original Animal Crossing on GameCube because of its file size. Definitely a different vibe having to manage save files that way back then.

Also a good time to get more into PC gaming I would think. Yes prices on GPUs and stuff are going up but game prices there should stay more stable, or at the very least more prone to being on sale

This is kind of how my experience with video games started. My dad’s old C64 “monitor,” a small avocado green TV with clicky dials and one antenna input. Always had to run my SNES through an RF modulator on that thing.
