At first glance, I thought it was a nativity scene.
Still not sure it isn't one.
Gnome statues with realistic faces and colored costumes sit on top of a dresser. They are arranged like a nativity scene but there's a pilgrim, a doctor, a scholar, and shading his eyes as he looks far away. They flank a couple looking lovingly at hollowed log that resembles a manger.
