The ribbons in this "photo" would be similar to what you'd see if you were looking straight up at one, but that's not the angle portrayed in their fake photo.
Also, the colors in the image should be the other way around. Blue light would be seen "under" green, which would be "under" red.

My guess is that they were afraid that such a slim piece would be either too fragile or too sharp at 1/144 scale.
