I stayed because until Bluesky blew up it was the best place to get worldwide breaking news-largely from ppl on the ground. This was esp true for major weather events & natural disasters.

If you're going to listen, and I hope you do, PLEASE wear a WIRED headset or at least earbuds. The sound quality difference is

Adam is bang on saying there was NOTHING Christian about the Crusades. In fact, it was quite the opposite. It was Pope Urban II, calling for a Holy War against the Muslims occupying the Holy Land. "Deus Vult!!" God Wills it! It was a power grab to strengthen the papacy as a political entity.
