I got two nice felt bubble cat beds years ago, but my overlords were unimpressed. The cat yurts went unused. Until this week! Flicka realized that this one is not only near her servant's reading chair (for supervision purposes), it's also on a warm spot. Behold! Yurt in use!!

So tomorrow we get to rassle some sedative into the kitty in order to get her to the vet for a checkup. She *hates* that. She's 14, weighs about 9 pounds, and fights like a demon. Pray for us 🐾🐈‍⬛🐾

My elegant little black cat had a new canned food yesterday and it gave her gas. There she was, curled up on her ottoman next to me, sleeping sweetly and silently emitting noxious fumes.
I love my cat.

She used to have only one white whisker, and as time has gone on, she's developed a full panoply. She also has a little white jabot, just to make clear that she respectfully dissents.

Text on American flag background: I stand with Judge Hannah Dugan. Judge Dugan, of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in Wisconsin, is accused of escorting a man out of her courtroom through the jury door last week after learning that immigration authorities were seeking his arrest. The agents did not have a proper warrant for his arrest. The man was taken into custody outside the courthouse. Judge Dugan was taken into custody by the FBI on Friday morning on the courthouse grounds. She appeared briefly in federal court in Milwaukee later Friday before being released from custody. She faces charges of “concealing an individual to prevent his discovery and arrest” and obstructing or impeding a proceeding.

So I got a circular two-sided velcro tortilla-printed wrap for Flicka so we can purrito-ize her before vet appointments and prevent bloodshed (mine). I laid the tortilla out in the living room so she could get acquainted with it, and here's this afternoon's encounter:
