I’m ready for a freshen up and a new venture. I hope that as Straylight Studio’s story comes to an end, you’ll all stay for what’s in the wings as 2025 approaches!

Thank you 1,000 times to every one of you that have been supportive of the studio and patient with me as I learned.

After a great deal of reflection and back and forthing, I came to a simple truth that stung a bit but also took a weight from my shoulders. I didn’t want to catch up and then go right back to doing the same thing. It didn’t motivate me and frankly just made me want to…stop.

Im ready for a change.

Despite not having taken commissions in almost 3 years, I was still convinced I could catch up and revitalize.

But starting in June I finally started to look into my stubborn streak and the actual plausibility of revitalization.

I burned out. My crafting has been suffering for years and the spark has honestly been all but dead. For the longest time, I fought on under the belief I could bring the studio back and it would be better than ever!

The studios social medias will remain active as archives after the last handful of on queue items are posted.

Running this has been a learning experience. I spent YEARS trying to pull myself up/revive after digging a deep hole overloading and falling into the trap that is ‘I can do EVERYTHING’.

Straylight Studio is permanently closed.

I did not make this decision lightly and while I am excited for future things, it’s not without a bit of heartache that I went through with this decision.

All folks that are still owed work will be receiving it if they haven’t already.

⭐️ Will you have a shop?

Yes!

I intend to have a virtual store front for pre made items.

Thank you all and I look forward to being able to bring my little studio and fun textile items back to you and better than ever.

⭐️ Will you be bringing the studio to conventions and events in the future?

No.

Part of the reformatting of the studio that I’ve been working on has been coming to the terms that, as much as I want them to be, conventions are not lucrative to the studio.

⭐️ Will the studio take commissions in the future?

Yes!

They will be limited, but once I’ve caught up, I do intend to open again in the future. Socials are a great way to keep an eye out for a date!

⭐️ Will long wait times/backlog be something to worry about if I buy or commission in the future?

No. Some lessons are hard learned and part of what I’ve been working on while catching up is an overhaul and reformat of how things run to ensure items are completed and delivered in a timely manner.

⭐️ Will I be receiving my item or commissions have been waiting on?

Yes! The studio itself has remained closed for quite a bit of time due to the fact I did dig myself into a backlog and will be finishing all owed projects before taking on new projects.

⭐️ Is Straylight Studio done?

No. Due to personal and day job reasons, I have been VERY sparse in the studio since basically the beginning of February. The remainder of March is going to remain very hectic, but then I will be back to it!
