I know a lot of you have already heard or read about BDS Movement's call against Microsoft, and felt weird and bad about it all, but decided to move forward as normal because of some degree of ambiguity.

"What service is Microsoft providing?"

Here it is, clear as day. A direct line to death.

According to three Unit 8200 sources, the cloud-based storage platform has facilitated the preparation of deadly airstrikes and has shaped military operations in Gaza and the West Bank.

Thanks to the control it exerts over Palestinian telecommunications infrastructure, Israel has long intercepted phone calls in the occupied territories. But the indiscriminate new system allows intelligence officers to play back the content of cellular calls made by Palestinians, capturing the conversations of a much larger pool of ordinary civilians.

Just emailed Xbox to tell them I will no longer be porting my video game to their platform, and that I will effectively immediately be pursuing formally ceasing my relationship with them as an indie video game developer.

I have decided as a result of Microsoft's complicity in the genocide of the people of Palestine that I will be ceasing the porting of my video game STREET UNI X (and all subsequent video games I develop) to Xbox platforms, effective immediately. I am not comfortable working with a company that leases software, AI, and datacenter services to an occupying fascist colonial force that is actively committing genocide and ethnic cleansing. 300,000+ Palestinian people have been killed as a direct result of the actions of Israel and the IDF, assisted in no small part by the help of your company's software, data centers, and AI tools. I find it so thoroughly untenable to proactively work with and benefit a company like yours that is complicit in unethical atrocities at such an immense scale, and as such I'd like to break off my participation in the ID@Xbox indie game development program.
