One year when they both got new cruisers, they challenged me to a race between two traffic lights at the north end of town, about two miles apart. Needless to say, I was waiting at the second light for a good 15 seconds before they arrived. That car could go like a bat out of hell.

It was a 240. I honestly don't know the ¼ mile time as I only raced the local police dept.

I lived in a tiny little town in central NJ where the two police officers knew everyone.

Keep in mind that those cars were designed to go very fast in a very straight line, but no A/C.
