I haven't drawn a comic in a while. But making this one was really satisfying. I hope you like it as much as I do.
The image is a comic with three panels. In the first panel, a speech bubble points outward to the left, saying: "Too often, we think about the past..." Below it, a butterfly is flying to the left. In the second panel, a speech bubble points outward to the right, saying: "...or focus on the future..." Now the butterfly is flying towards the right side of the panel. In the final panel, the speech bubble points to a character, not seen in the previous two panels, and says: "...when we should be in the present." The character, who has big eyes, floppy ears, and no clothes, sits on the ground in a relaxed posture, holding their left arm up in midair and smiling contentedly. The butterfly has landed on the tip of their outstretched left index finger. The comic is rendered in subdued colors against a beige background.

I guess that because they used no colors, Sarah Andersen and Randall Munroe never made it. 🤨

And yet your linework, coloring and shading look so delightful!

As an aside, the way you captured the reflection in the glasses is excellent. It shows a careful attention to detail that is especially powerful in minimalist drawings. Well done!

Unspeakable indeed – and also very relatable. Could it be you are spying on me?

If you're interested in learning how many times Charles Schulz was rejected before his first Peanuts comic strip appeared in newspapers on October 2, 1950, I recommend listening to the Rejection Podcast episode about him: open.spotify.com/episode/0Rjp...

Here comes ol’ Charlie Brown!” 2nd panel: As Charlie Brown passes, he says “Good ol’ Charlie Brown…yes, sir!” 3rd panel: “Good ol’ Charlie Brown…” 4th panel: Once Charlie is gone, “How I hate him!”

Das Markieren von anderen Menschen offenbart von jeher eine einfache Gesinnung und ein Unverständnis darüber zu wessen Geistes Kind man sich damit macht.
