I’ve made things before and I’m making them again
luckily that importing service that qobuz uses/recommends makes things insanely easy to fiddle with

yeah I've similarly found apple's service to be Fine for what I need it for, plus they only skipped 1 or 2 of my anime songs, but the rub over there is I have to update to ios 26 to get access to playlist folders outside of a desktop environment (lmao)

I still have my arenanet account from years and years ago but I might buck nostalgia and do the same... I wanna see how it plays on my deck...

I think it's worth checking out if you can deal with some clunkiness on their app (I ultimately decided it wasn't for me)

anything to get off of spotify imo

oh that's today!!!
December 3, 2025 at 7:43 PM
not that I need another project but I've also considered trying to go the "buy an old ipod off ebay and learn how to refurbish it" route but we'll see. that might be a bridge too far for my little pea brain right now

okay the other downside of qobuz versus apple is it doesn't cover nearly the same number of tracks in my massive anime openings/endings playlist (which is a pretty good litmus test, tbh---250+ songs)
December 3, 2025 at 7:07 PM
I transferred to apple music a long while back but I'll be honest I haven't used it much... it's mostly my go-to for "hey I want to listen to [this specific album]"
December 3, 2025 at 7:02 PM
I lied, one last thing: their mobile app is really nice
December 3, 2025 at 5:25 PM
oh one more thing, you can search for an artist or a band you like and see what episodes they appear on

I've found that to be a great way of finding shows that jive with the mood I'm going for! it's a great way to broaden your horizons!

okay rant over thank you

And if you pay them a little bit of money every month like I do, you get live tracklists for the currently playing shows as well as tracklist timestamps on archives from 2023 onward (among other things)

You can also save tracks to look into later!

And finally, rounding out this thread with none other than Elijah Wood's guest spot from back in October: www.nts.live/shows/dont-a...

The guy's got good taste!

I have so many other saved shows and episodes but it'd make this into a blog post instead of a thread lol

For electronic/dance, some one-offs:

This B2B with Foreigner and Nativesun is ADHD music. Trust me. www.nts.live/shows/foreig...

I like breakbeat/jungle, and I like Tim Reaper's jungle www.nts.live/shows/tim-re...

Do you love stupid sample soundboards? I do :) www.nts.live/shows/easter...

Born for Burning is perfect when I'm in a thrash/death metal mood :) Kim's halloween special made me bark laugh around the mid-set mark, but otherwise it's nothing but gas

Halloween ep: www.nts.live/shows/painki...

A "normal" ep: www.nts.live/shows/painki...

For shows:

The Windmills of Your Mind and Cosmic Peekaboo are both fantastic roundups of soft rock, psych rock, folk, jazz, and so on. I can throw a dart at their ep lists and always have a great time
