Breach? Sounds like people gave their data to the government on a promise of disaster support, the government gave their data and our money to a contractor on a promise of service provision, and the contractor gave their data to a tech business on a promise of slop.

research I did with Inclusion Australia a couple of years ago, with expertise from Prof Erin Wilson, found that sheltered workshops were often not financially sustainable and disabled people paid the price

but more subsidies for the same model, I guess

Thankyou, this is exactly what I loved about Mickey 17. Bong Joon Ho is such a great communicator, and never hesitates to spell things out.

So many women have been talking, writing and warning people of the dangerous ideologies and biases of tech in Silicon Valley, for decades, and it’s so infuriating that so many men (not OP here) just flat out ignore it and act surprised at the technofascists infecting it now

1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that

I've chipped in a bit to the GoFundMe. Thankyou for bringing our attention to Borsook and her excellent work!

Hell yeah. When I was temporarily living by myself, I made a rule that I would never cook dinner 2 days in a row. Leftovers, extras frozen, purchased prepped meals, girl dinner, whatever it took. It's bad enough that we need to eat more than once a day, having to cook many times in a row is awful.

When 90s albums get reissued, instead of deluxe expanded editions they should do versions cut down to a nice tight 40 minutes or so

I used the tool and downloaded my statement as a PDF. But now I can't get back to the Make A Submission link without generating a statement again. Going back in the browser just sends me to the start state.

A little background to this story: earlier this year something kept cropping up in the reporting I was doing on renewable energy -- the spectacle of recently elected centre-right governments in Queensland and, to a lesser extent, the Northern Territory acting in ways to strand renewables assets.

The Trump administration appears to be trying to make a global war on renewables. I spoke to @mkblyth.bsky.social for @drilledmedia.bsky.social about the strategy of carbon dominance, how this is shaping politics not just in the US but everywhere, and what that means for the future.
Trump Is Trying to Kill Renewables Everywhere
The US government is trying to strangle renewables to save fossil fuels. Trump wants other countries to do the same.

Everyday Australians shouldn't be forced to foot the bill from increasingly frequent and severe climate disasters.

We need a climate disaster levy on fossil fuel exports now. #auspol

Oh excellent, thankyou!

Which makes me worry a little that other places had them too but it didn’t escape the local news sphere

Well, not a correction but an addition really
stringyland.bsky.social
One minor correction: Perth had one of these too. They were chanting white supremacy slogans in front of London Court, in the mall and on St George’s Terrace. I know we’re far away but the problem extends out here too.
