I’d be more likely to believe in the potential of the tech when I see more nobody privately owned startups popping up. You saw a lot of that in 2010s SaaS era.

I wouldn’t go around calling people uncritical over this. I’d be suspicious of anything put out by OpenAI, including their financial statements. Not a high bar of trust there.

Who is making 80% profit?

I don’t know what a floating GPU rate is, but I think we can agree that there is a big gap between the solutions to these problems and the money to make them happen. The c-suite is just running on vibes and kayfabe while we’re down here just trying to get our toys to work.

The companies are expecting people not to go through the steps of setting it up themselves. It is a safe bet, but the problem remains that all AI work needs to be checked over, eating up any value that could have been gained from the venture.

The other way you make it cheap is running an open source model off your own laptop. Makes you wonder how they expected to make money in the first place.

I’ve found the predictions of experts on cults and high control groups to be highly accurate.
