As someone who has thought that a trek show focused on starfleet academy could be great, I always ALWAYS imagined it revolving around the professors and other academic staff with students mostly playing the role of dumbass of the week. This is an inversion of that and I hate it.

Something that tilts this situation toward it having lasting effect is that Trump is choosing to be aggressive towards some of the most stubborn elements of his coalition when these members respond much better to treats. I don't think he can get away with the Ted Cruz treatment here.
