Well I just never understood the strategy of having an unwavering allegiance to any foreign country. It doesn’t matter what country we’re talking about; promising some unconditional allegiance just sets you up to be complicit in any of the morally deplorable things they may do. Doesn’t make sense

back in like the early 2010’s, when I was in middle school, I questioned my social studies teacher about our strong allegiance to Israel after a current events lesson. If a child can see something weird going on there, it shouldn’t be difficult for reasonable adults, let alone elected officials.
