The CfP for next year's Folklore Fellows Summer School is now open. It's a great panel of excellent keynotes. Worth flagging up to encourage as wide a participation of younger career scholars as possible.

There are many wonderful reasons to travel to Italy. Pisa International Airport is not one of them.

A really great review. Although not helpful for my current drive to reduce rather than increase my book collection.

Three subjects close to my heart coming together in one conference - digitalisation, decolonisisation and archaeology. Much looking forward to this! urbnet.au.dk/news/events/...

An ale from Yorkshire called "Swale Trail Pale", explicitly referencing Keld and Grinton, of Swaledale Corpse Path fame (stuartdunn.blog/2023/07/14/t...). I think the weekend has come early.

Well there isn't a lot to do in Dorset. And there are no mountains.

Roman Corbridge (Coria), Northumberland. The granary building on the left of the picture remained at the same level for 200 years, but the Stanegate road in the centre/right of the picture rose by nearly 2m as a result of renovation and resurfacing. I love seeing how mobility changes landscapes.
