I've run the gamut of incredulity to some kind of understanding, though I admit it's coloured by the fact that I *really* like those books and that publisher and I *really* don't like seeing them get fucked over, whether it's by this dipshit author or their own mistake.

Because everyone fucks up.

To clarify, I mean broadly speaking - not specifically in Bitmap's case - it can't be expected to know everything an author has said. That's obvious.
