As a self-proclaimed old man. I don't understand why so many people my age are afraid of progress. Change is part of life. If history teaches us anything, it is that change happens no matter what we want. We either evolve or die out. To be progressive is to usher in progress and accept change.

Sometimes, I feel like an old man yelling at kids to get off my lawn. I just don't get parts of current culture. I understand being angry about a broken system and injustices, but to expend so much energy on blaming Disney for destroying Star Wars and Marvel is bonkers to me.

The Last Jedi was amazing. It set us up for a great story with Kylo as the big bad haunted by the ghost of Luke. It did away with the notion that you had to be from a leniage of force users to be a Jedi. Anyone could be great. Rei didn't need to be attached to anyone from the earlier movies.

Marvel is not fading. The last few releases have been good. Antman 3 was a good movie, and The Marvels was an absolute blast. The reason the box office is down has nothing to do with the films. People just don't go to the movies like they did pre- covid. Also, it cost way too much.
