On monday we hung up posters explaining why #ntnu Akrinn should have automatic doors at the wheelchair toilets.

It reads The “accessible” toilets at Akrinn, and possibly more NTNU buildings, do not have door openers. This makes it impossible for disabled people to use these toilets. As it is now, we have to pee on the floor. The Norwegian law does not require dooropeners if the door requires < 30 Newton to open. This is a human rights breach. (UN) NTNU says individuals should go through a bureacratic process to apply for individual accomodation. But it is in fact not up to an individual to make a building universally accessible. Help fight for disabled people’s rights to go to the bathroom. Discrimination breeds fascism.
