Hey Samantha, new here as well. I currently teach HS & MS 3D Art (34th yr) and I have my Masters from SCAD too (metals and jewelry). I have been exploring the gel plate for about two years.

You can buy the placement tools, but the are not great for the bigger plates. I have use the large paint sticks as a placement tool for alignment. Happy printings!
