Shifting roof planes trace the fall of the land, stepping with the contours to settle the building gently into place. A consistent masonry datum anchors the composition—its tactile surface catching light and shadow—while corrugated forms above create rhythm, lightness, and a subtle agri reference.

The fireplace anchors the home—its bricks carefully salvaged from the original house. Worn and weathered, they carry the memory of what stood before. Rebuilt in a new form, the hearth becomes both a physical and emotional centrepiece, connecting past to present in warmth and material continuity.

Main Range House sits in the Snowy Mountains on land held by one family for over 50 years. Built on the original footprint, it responds to slope, climate, and program. This new home marks the first step in renewing the property and beginning a long-term process of landscape regeneration.
