What stories emerge when we stop translating ourselves for others? What happens when Black community creates from lived experience—without compromise? Applications are open to join the 2025 Cohort. No art or storytelling skills required. This will be a trauma-informed expertly led healing and play place. We will: - Explore Black archetypes who've shaped our lives and identities - Create collaborative stories that reflect our authentic experiences - Contribute to a visual art project capturing our shared wisdom The result? Ten powerful, authenticated, and layered Black archetypes with their life lessons, brought to life by visuals, and sound—created by us. Four golden illustrated skeleton keys hooked on a thin golden wire ring, each one smaller than the last from left to right, are splayed on a black background. Each key has a different shaped locking mechanism. The largest one is shaped like a Dogon Kanaga mask. This mask has two crossbars at the top and a long vertical bar in between, symbolizing the connection between the earth and the heavens. The key has a Dogon symbol for feminine, the third has a cross, and the fourth is shaped like a spade.
