The way the wind’s blowing here, it might not even matter. We’ll probably lose power.

Thanks man! It better be a free fix since it’s been less than 24 hours since it was installed!

Oh man, I completely forgot all about calls being cheaper at night.
Those were some crazy days.

A friend of mine had one back in the late 90’s, before cell phones became slightly more affordable. We currently have a couple doctor friends who were issued beepers by the hospital.

They should just turn the ring into an Ouija board and see if they can summon Hulk Hogan and the Iron Sheik

Something to keep in mind: using one of these AI engines to create a one minute video will use as much electricity as running a 1200 watt microwave for an hour and a half. And it will still look like runny dog shit.
February 6, 2026 at 4:03 PM
The entire industry is a closed loop. There isn’t enough outside money coming in to keep things running, so it’s a matter of all these involved companies buying and selling from each other. It’s why they don’t pay copyright holders to use their material to train these AI engines.

They’re also grossly wasteful, using obscene amounts of electricity and water, and the communities near data centers are expected to foot the bill for the increased usage. They also pay the price in environmental damage.
February 6, 2026 at 3:56 PM
The entire industry is a scam. AI developers have been lying about the capabilities of their programs from the beginning. They don’t actually create anything. They copy and paste parts of other things, all of them created by humans, in a way that makes sense to the machines.

It’s like Italian delis are required by law to display huge jars of olives and peppers on their counters that are never actually opened.

Pretty much how I felt about it. Kinda dumb, but also fun to watch. But then I also don’t go into Star Wars expecting anything more than dumb fun.
February 5, 2026 at 5:49 PM
Same here. It’s actually kind of the reason why I’ve started waiting so long before watching the new super popular stuff. By the time I have thoughts, no one cares and I don’t have to worry about dealing with a pile on.

Same. I'll watch the thing that everyone is raving and heaping tons of praise on, and I'm sitting over here like...

And this is why I don't idolize anyone just because they put out some music or movies I like.

Wait a minute, between the ages of 15 to 50? What the hell? Who wants a 15 year old to pass on their genes?
February 3, 2026 at 4:44 PM
I’m usually 5-6 years behind when it comes to discovering new artists, so I was happy when I realized how new they are!

I just bought Prelude to Ecstasy after having them pop up on Pandora. I’m loving them, particularly Sinner and My Lady of Mercy.

Good point. Why put in the effort when you’re not making any money off it…
