I haven't posted enough comics lately, please enjoy the first four pages of my WIP "Graphic Designer on a Pirate Ship" - which, coincidentally, features 0 pirates (don't worry, they will appear soon)

A five-panel page of comics. The first panel is an exterior shot of a coffee shop named "Coast Coffee." It is by a beach, and in the background a pirate ship is barely noticeable in the background. The second panel contains a young, short man with glasses and a shoulder bag walking up to the counter of the coffee shop. A barista says "Next!" The third panel contains a closer shot of the barista and the man (who, again, looks young and small.) The barista says "Hey. What can I get you?" And the man replies "The usual - a large hazelnut green tea mocha with one pump of raspberry and one-"... The fourth panel contains the man opening his wallet, which contains two bills and a few dust bunnies. The wallet blows out air and a sound effect of "KOFF" appears above it. The fifth panel contains the man with those two bills in hand as he says "Make that one normal coffee. Black. Small."

The second panel contains Preston and a new young man with an open shirt, hair in a bun and a bad mustache. Preston says "Oh, hey Jared..." His body language is awkward as Jared one-arm-hugs him. Jared says "How ARE you, man? So weird seeing you here outside of the campus art department!" The third panel contains Jared pointing at Preston. He says "It's like we never left - except now we gotta pay for our coffee with real money instead of meal plan dollars! Are you still getting those crazy coffee drinks - the special order ones with really long name-" The fourth panel contains a shot of the barista handing Preston his coffee, saying "Here's your small black coffee." Preston looks embarrassed. The fifth panel contains Preston looking down sheepishly at his cup, saying "I'm... cutting back until I can find a design gig."

The fifth panel contains a drawing of Preston, squinting his eyes and furrowing his brow (as well as slightly crushing his coffee cup) saying "Oh yeah? HBC? Never heard of them." A thought balloon appears over his head and within is a laptop that shows an email that reads: "RE: Graphic Designer Position. Thank you for your interest in the Graphic Designer position at HBC. After reviewing your application and the qualifications of other candidates, we regret to inform you that we have decided not to move forward w..."

The third panel contains Preston, looking very unimpressed, with a thought bubble that has "..." inside of it.
