For me I mostly just don't like how it takes up an extra two buttons on my stick. Plus, at least for me, it makes it way easier to accidentally input a move I don't want to. Accidentally doing down-forward special instead of down special, for example.

That's something I noticed when I played it too, it feels very unfriendly for stick. I had to rebind almost my entire layout to make it feel natural but even then it still feels... weird.
It's also very much solidified my preference for motion inputs, i do not like having two special buttons lmao.
