Professeur de littérature au collégial. Papa beauçabitibien aux papilles sinomontréalaises et à l'âme nippone. Vidéoludeur néonostalgique. Candidement pessimiste.
Always awesome, an instant buy!
I got shivers when the mezzo started the 2nd verse. Didn't expect that!
Great way to start my evening.

Kids grow and a lot of those little events come and go, or evolve. My favorite has always been bug catching, with my fearless little boy grabbing any with his bare hands!

By the way, your depiction of bath time is *perfect*.

Print it on a T-shirt and I'm buying!

I'll tag along with my own dumb questions: is a supernova somewhat spherical? If so, should we assume it expands equally in all directions?
(I teach literature, please be kind with my limited grasp of math!)

Incredible! Is this bird at risk of getting caught in spider webs? Can frogs catch it like they would an insect?

business avant tout. Oubliez les services aux enfants et aux familles.
Misère!

I can only agree with this assessment. Students (I teach 17-20 y.o.) zone out after one or two pages of text.
A basic survey of how a short story is written seems out of their grasp, even after teaching them how to do it.

Formidable géant des nouveaux temps!

This is the way. Bravo!

My, you had to look hard to find an actual cow-looking cow within the FF universe!

Slightly unrelated, but seeing Gau just put his theme back in my head. The solo cello version is so good!

Yes! Thank you so much for this one, an instant favorite!

Thanks for the link, @claesdevreese.bsky.social ! This is something I will most likely refer to in an upcoming course on the freedom of speech.
Won't have too much fun translating those labels to French, though!

Samus now looking for korok seeds in the Gerudo desert, riding Kaneda's bike from Akira.
(Damn autocorrect wouldn't let me write any words in this sentence!)

Love it, so calming. Thank you, Miri!

I make my students *re-write* their graded, commented, returned essays: they ignore all directives, dump everything, and create an all-new something, replete with different errors and mistakes.
How do those minds work?

My whole childhood, being afraid of the dark and taking hours to fall asleep. In a perpetual state of hyper-vigilance, pumping cortisol, I would see faces in every corner of my room: monsters, witches, giant insects.
I'm assume imagination has something to do with this, though!

Voltaire and Rousseau cancel each other out so perfectly, there is no way to enjoy both fully and equally. The first one you discover will forever taint how you perceive the second.

There is no remedy.

And while the underdoers are lazy bastards, the overdoers are insufferable pricks - Emile Zola's my pick...

Your Minecraft example resonates. That's how my son (8 at the time) learned you can start a story right at the "perturbation event" (élément déclencheur) to hook in the reader. Funnily enough, he's been writing this way in his short stories, and the teachers are all sorts of amazed...

Est-ce bien la ville qui installe des supports à vélos devant les commerces, et non les
propriétaires eux-mêmes?
J'aurais plusieurs suggestions à faire autour des Galeries Normandies.

This is... seriously unfair to all those who have neither a cat, nor your talent.
Beautiful work as usual!
