I dated a girl who was pretty impacted by her autism. Her issues with overstimulation would lead to her locking down with zero contact for as much as a week. Hard not to consider that a disability.

Maybe if you're considering mild cases that generally will just result in socially awkward personality traits and non-typical interests but on the higher end is people who get so overstimulated in otherwise mundane scenarios that they shut down for days at a time.
