i dunno, i would disagree on the weapon leveling, since thats what makes dark cloud different from most other rpgs. like i do sincerely believe that being able to improve and evolve your starting weapon all the way to the best weapon in the game is core to the identity of dark cloud

like sorry this is prolly the most pointless thing to mention but mass effect dropped the ball on this. dragon age constantly reacts to you playing as a mage and it adds depth to the setting. but play the equivalent in me and its barely mentioned.

also!!! also!!! your class has no meaning!! me1 has a whole bunch of stuff about biotics and it doesnt matter if you're a biotic!!! you have no comments!! people barely mention it until me3, and even then it isnt substantive!! it only matters when you're fighting your clone in me3 citadel!!!!

storywise the series is.....
fine? there's something interesting (to me at least) about the synthesis ending, but they don't really point to it beyond legion's sacrifice in me3, and none of the rest of the series tries to actually grapple with the organic vs synthetic question imo
