I don't think this is a major problem but it did take me out a bit that Frankenstein's monsters are just canon since the 1800s in the DCU and we should just roll with the science.

Their story felt more self-contained when the other flashbacks all try to draw attention to some systemic issue.
I also didn't know Frankenstein's monsters and The Bride were canon in DC.
