Other factors that helped him are his fake ceasefire from months ago and how he sometimes pays lip service to Israel critics ("They don't know what the fuck they're doing!" or nodding when Zohran called it a genocide)

Brandon was at least brutally honest about what he was doing but this mf hides it

And while I'm on GI Robot... He's still the Best. Thing. Ever.

GI Robot is like the Super Soldier serum. It's an exaggeration of real existing science stuff from the 1940s.

Some scientist reanimating dead body parts 200 years ago when even the best DC scientists can't do it now... Little jarring for me, lol.

*harder to buy

Huh. Didn't know that.

I don't think this is a major problem but it did take me out a bit that Frankenstein's monsters are just canon since the 1800s in the DCU and we should just roll with the science.

GI Robot being created in the 1940s doesn't feel weird but for some reason the former is harder

Yeah, all that was great but it's also why (like you said) Frankenstein is the hardest to sympathize with.

Their story felt more self-contained when the other flashbacks all try to draw attention to some systemic issue.

I also didn't know Frankenstein's monsters and The Bride were canon in DC.

The others weren't at fault or (in the case of Dr. Phosphorus and The Bride) I buy that your average normal person would do what they did if they went through their experiences.

Agreed. It's because 1) he is too much comic relief and 2) the old saying about rape being more inexcusable than murder is true. (Yeah he doesn't exactly rape The Bride but the implication is he wants to be with her in that way in spite of her feelings since he didn't leave her alone for 200 years.)

I thought they were the weakest since every other flashback is a balance of "We look different + we got screwed over by society".

The Bride and Frankenstein one lean more exclusively towards just "We look different".

Interesting you thought the Bride and Frankenstein bits are the best since those were the weakest for me.
