There are, but they tend to be clustered in certain fields like Intel or in certain corners of the officer ranks. The bulk of military folks, in my experience, are either very conservative, or just young and apolitical/uninformed. It's a right wing culture, even more so in the combat arms.

Playoffs have been good so far. Knicks taking back to back games after 20 point comebacks...chefs kiss.

We are coming very close to a time when the majority of those in powerful and influential positions will have never read a physical book.

I'm sure the Israelis are doing this more as a post-election favor for the Trump Admin rather than because of any efforts from the Biden Admin. They've been fine with ignoring US pressure from them.

I've thinking about adding some gold or other precious metals to the mix. Prefer something involving physical gold and also looking at ETFs that track gold prices

Any international market should have them. Scotch bonnets are also closely related to Habaneros, so you should be able to substitute those without much difference

Jerk is my go to when judging a spot. It's kind of rare to get legit jerk around me (grilled over fire, pimento wood, smoky, spicy, etc.) So many places do some version of an oven or pan roasted or baked version of jerk. It might taste good, but it's not "jerk" to me

I can't disconnect that much. I care about the country and society too much. I will be looking out for me and mine the next few years too, but i have to keep an eye on what's happening federally. I still think there may be some unexpected, maybe even good, things that come from this

What are your thoughts on bioengineering or biomedical engineering as a goal major for students? Not sure if you have expertise in this area, but it seems fascinating with a lot of broad future potential career-wise?

Shooting can be a great hobby. If they aren't experienced with guns, they should first take a firearms course with an instructor. Many ranges will rent various firearms, so they can try it out and see how they like it, which models fit and feel they like, which calibers, etc. Then, buy if they want.
