It IS great for 3D scenes since you can walk around inside the thing you're working on. But trying to draw or paint in midair is just an awful mess. It looks cool as long as you aren't actually trying to get something done.

I never paid much attention to him except as part of the general cultural background noise of the 20th century.
But I thought Bakshi's adaptation of Fritz The Cat was a brilliant piece of social satire. Crumb apparently hated it, so maybe that says something.

The model isn't nearly as bad as the compositing onto the backgrounds. No idea why they didn't shoot inflight b-roll with the real airplane.

Most of the shots where they used the model are 3 seconds or less, and with the amount of motion blur, you can't see how bad it is.
