That is actually horrific.

The Moon. It's there every day, I've seen it uncounted times over my 61 years. Still, my wife & I always stop to look at it, and tell each other we need to see it tonight, it's so beautiful. It does not get old. It does not get boring.

I believe you have a witch in your field.

When I saw the picture of drunk raccoon, my first thought was, "We've all been there, haven't we?"

Yeah, the inconsistency is crazy. (And probably intentional, if you ask me.)

So we have to close libraries because not enough of the people who work in them are members of ALA?

A very enjoyable book. I came across Terri Windling when I found, in a little free library, the book on the Green Man that she edited, then found this one in the public library where I work.

Phobos does not look trustworthy, if you ask me.

I gave up on Ishiguro's "The Unconsoled" because I found everybody talking, nobody listening to be annoying.

I've started Paul Murray's "The Bee Sting," and so far I'm enjoying it.

But we're not supposed to buy avocado toast if we want to save money. Which is it? Are we supposed to save, or sacrifice ourselves on the altar of consumerism so fuckface billionaires can continue to make bank?

I'm reminded of post 9/11 when we were to told to go shop, for god's sake.

I've done St. Paul to Utica on train, which took about 24 hours, and it was awful. I haven't taken a bus further from Oneonta than Rochester, and that was over 40 years ago, so my memory is somewhat fuzzy.

For what it's worth.

I once helped run a conference in St. Paul for a group called UMDUG. I sorely wanted to call the conference, "UMDUG, in a Pig's Eye!" I was told in no uncertain terms that was not going to happen.

If only the liberals were as terrible as Republicans wish we were, those Republicans wouldn't have to lie like this. It's our fault, really.

I'm sorry to hear you are in such a state. I hope you get through this quickly. Your Hookland posts really speak to me and there's something about your style that I can't quite articulate but that I love.

The stuff I listened to in College is now as old as big band music was when I was in college.

This. This is why we still need the humanities.

I haven't asked anyone about this, but I think a lot of people who have greater reach than I do (4 followers?) mute responses to keep from being overwhelmed, or to keep out the weirdos.

I have not noticed a change in how often I encounter this, for whatever that's worth.
