An unfinished squarish garden bed, 5 blocks short of full functionality. Filled with dead sticks, but not enough. Has the potential to grow some sort of stuff, but at the moment it’s pretty useless.

I had this idea on how to make use of some of my excess wood and fill part of this raised bed for free.

Yo, filling these with bagged soil is expensive. $$$$$

#Gardening
A raised bed garden plot made from two levels of cinder blocks. The interior of the bed is filled with sticks and other pieces of wood that I collect from the yard and use in the Franklin stove. I have way too much, though, and am putting it in there to dispose of it. My hope is that the wood will help keep weeds at bay (along with the cardboard) and decay over time, leaving a deep, rich soil filling this bed.

Got sprouts. I am using old tomato cages to try keeping all the cats from using this plot for pooping. The next phase to get to, I guess, is larger sprouts, maybe? 🤞

The skinny trunk of a standing tree, covered with moss and fungi. Three somewhat frilly pinkish beige mushroom caps emerge from the right side of the trunk. I was playing with a macro lens that the professor I worked for wanted us to use to take pictures of our field sites. Several years ago, my back yard, autumn. A small clump of almost black Dead Man's Fingers sticking up from the ground. It is surrounded fallen leaves, including flaming orange sugar maple and brown red oak.

People are wrong if they say cats don’t help out around the house.

This cat even woke me up last night when my blood sugar was getting low. Might have been a coincidence, but I choose to think he was trying to save my life.

My rescue cat is sitting inside the warm dryer. I was trying to empty out the laundry, but gave up due to the immense cuteness. One of these days I might write up the whole story of how this cat came to live with me, just to use up more of the character limit in here.
