My first attempt at making soap 🧼 it's Yuletide sage and frankincense soap 🎄 made with dried sage, frankincense essential oil, sweat, blood, and tears -and about to be gifted to my unfortunate relatives. Smells delicious but doesn't lather much - fun but challenging 😁
my first attempt to make soap using a loaf mould and wavy cutters - the top layer is plain melt and pour shea soap with frankincense essential oil and the bottom layer is the same soap base with added dried sage and green colouring plus a little sweat, blood, and tears x

Battered but Glorious: celebrated another year around the sun with fish and chips from my local chippy yesterday - Crisp batter, golden chips, a splash of vinegar... suddenly, the weight of the world lifted. Wars, racism, the Trump year - all temporarily forgotten in the glory of fried comfort.

I have a Pentax SP1000 - i was amazed to find the light meter still worked with a new battery - but i rather stupidly left some film in it for over 10 years - it degraded and I scratched the film track a little trying to remove it - will probably leave tram lines now 🙁

does anybody know if this is a meadow brown - spent the day participating in the big butterfly count - sadly I lack butterfly identification skills
Think this could be a meadow brown butterfly - brownish with a eye-like spot on its wing - but have been told it could be a common buckeye - i think it is on a butterfly bush but not too sure about that either

Full Fathom Five by Jackson Pollock, 1947

The School of Athens by Raphael ~1510
A breathtaking work of meticulous technical achievement - this fresco by Raphael depicts a grand architectural setting resembling a classical Roman building with arches and columns.
