I actually think GitS is one of the lesser works out of Oshii's filmography, I'm a pretentious asshole so I'm like "hop on Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer and his Twilight Q segment" but I can't hold a candle to the guys that are like "actually his live action stuff is way better."

incredibly well known trivia but the first half(?) of the tank battle was animated by one guy (mitsuo iso) with no inbetweeners. also responsible for large parts of the mass production eva sortie in EoE and, coincidentally, the video I linked above.
