We're definitely into autumn now... and it's a great time to consider a weekend of encouragement, inspiration and warm fellowship before the end of the year. Here are three quite different opportunities at Abernethy Kilmalieu
A list of retreats, winter work 14-17 November, Faith in nature 21-24 November and creative Christmas 5-8 December

Be a Gardener
Dig a ditch
Toil and sweat
And turn the earth upside down
And seek the deepness
And water plants in time
Continue this labour
And make sweet floods to run & noble & abundant fruits to spring
Take this food & drink & carry it to God as your true worship

(Julian of Norwich)

People are hard to hate close up.

Move in.
Speak truth....
Be civil.
Hold hands with strangers.
Strong back.
Soft front.
Wild heart.

…. As Africans in America we're tired of protesting that our lives matter, it's time we stop begging for justice and take a stance for our people. It's time for us to be fearless and take our power back

When the police pushed everyone off the street, I felt like they were pushing us to the side to silence our voices and diminish our presence. They were once again leveraging their strength to leave us powerless…..

It took a long time to get him and it happened as he went in to a containment area to rescue two other matelots. Sadly neither of them survived 😔
My opposition to nuclear power is simply that it is just so unnecessary and in the end is driven by greed and the list for power

Help Church Peeps ✝️
Does anyone else have an old door on their church which requires you to pull the handle towards you and then twist before it will open?
A newcomer sadly missed church on Sunday as they couldn’t work the door.
We’re looking for a graphic to explain the process. Has anyone got one?

"Flags do not signify a single, objective given set of values and commitments. They are porous, protean, permeable, absorbing the words and behaviour of the individuals and communities that wave, hang, and wrap them."

Does the same complaint make sense if you say you’ve never seen a Black Face in some parts of the Home Counties? 😉

Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy.
That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody’s business.

What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbours worthy.
