Wildly swerving between cozy pictures of sewing projects and cats, and what some people call 'politics'.
One of my absolute favourite Tom Cardy songs. Perfect for apooky season! What a banger!

Nope, dont like it. But I think I know what I want to do instead.

Tacked up enough white EPP pieces to start to think about how I will lay out this quilt. I think it's going to look like this, perhaps. For this layout I could make the white pieces as stretch hexagons rather than the rhomboids you see here. Not sure what would look better though.

All finished. Took it slow and focussed on not gripping anything too hard. This is a traditional Ulu design from poakalani.net which I'm looking forward to echo quilting by hand in the distant future when it has been pieced into the #sampler quilt.

Absolutely loving this #quilting technique. Pretty gutted that it is very hard on my hands.

Enjoying this Hawaiian Ulu #samplerquilt block made in the traditional way with needle turn appliqué much more than yesterday's Dresden. I'd like to make a full size Hawaiian style quilt at some point in the future, though this style is very hard on my hands so it'll probably take ages.

Awaiting the white sheets I have ordered to supply the necessary white fabric for my EPP project, I have returned to do some of the #SamplerQuilt blocks from Lynne Edwards. Not super interested in this appliqué Dresden Plate but I was pleased to finish it.

Asthma, but make it more *cozy*.

Something inspired by this. Except more chill, all greeny-blues, and probably with more white space. And EPP not machine pieced. My partner is a fabricator so I sat with him and used his skills to get the templates drawn up; I eyeballed the proportions rather than measured anything, v enjoyable.

USA and the UK are kinda on fire BUT I have a brand new EPP #quilting project!

Not a cup I like to leave out at work.

Had a lovely week on the western Welsh coast - 'where the mountains reach the sea' - and I will definitely be back. This was the view from the back of the place we stayed. We were often battered by winds but that was part of the charm.

Yesterday's dinner was fish and chips with a view. You can tell this is the countryside, because the gulls showed no interest in robbing us.

No idea what I shall do with these, but aren't these printed cottons from Abermaw Quilt and Craft lovely? The Christmas animals are so cute and the blue waves very hyper, I love them. Did not cave to the wonderful black-grey William Morris prints, I do not have WM money 😆

No filter needed on the western coast of Wales, though it was absolutely exhausting walking several miles of sandy beach in strong winds. Very happy to find coffee and cake in this little town this afternoon.

I went to a naked life drawing class as part of a hen-do recently. It's been about twenty years since I last drew a human, and I've never vibed with charcoal (the TEXTURE oh god) but I'm pretty pleased with these 🤣

How emotionally fragile and cowardly are the systes that govern us at the moment? I'm absolutely disgusted they destroyed this valuable piece of art, because they can't take the implied criticism.

They couldn't even allow a million pound piece of artwork to criticise them for a day.

On the home stretch with this hand quilted blanket, done in a similar style to some Irish quilting (outside of posh English influence); produced from scraps and without wadding.
Might add some more later, build up the layers. But after I finish the quilting I'll let it sit for a bit.

I have been doing a lot of hand sewing on this quilting project. 100m of thread gone already!

Enjoyed hand piecing this variant of 'Drunkard's Path', having skipped ahead in my quilt blocks. Need to gird myself to do a couple of machine strip-pieces blocks next, which I find terribly dull, but want the learning experience.

I like this one quite a lot. The aggressive geometric forms are very satisfying. The point matching requires plenty of concentration and accuracy in hand piecing and sewing as well. Block 13 in the #SamplerQuilt.

Been a busy week in a lot of ways. Read a lot of books, hand sewed the parts for three different quilt blocks, including this fun variation of a Drunkards Path. Looking forward to being home for a little bit.

£2.20 for this! What a bargain. The bacon was about half a centimeter thick and had been slow cooked to the point the fat was sweet and completely fell off it. If that bacon had been seasoned it would have been the sort of thing that would be part of a £15 starter at a fancy restaurant.
