Drawing this scene in pastel allowed me to really push the contrast between the dark alley and the vibrant, glowing lights. The reflections in the wet street were the most satisfying part.

Playing around with masking fluid again. Tried the trees again. More success this time. My 3rd attempt as I was too impatient on my 2nd & put the masking fluid on while the paint was still damp & the paper ripped when taking the fluid off. Much happier now. #art #watercolourpainting #maskingfluid
