Mainly I wanted a visual application for when he does forcefully bend her to his will/sees through her eyes.
Idea I'm considering: the vallaslin "mark" is laced with his blood + (blue) lyrium + gold to give it color when inactive. She's a spirit manifest from lyrium so it shouldn't tranquilize her.

And when Elgar'nan dies, the rest of his soul join the bits in Vallira.
Thus she becomes two spirits/souls in one body. At least until they can figure out how to revive him somehow.
They have a son but I don't want him using their son for that. That would be weird for Vallira. Maybe blood's fine.

If I remember reading right they put a piece of their soul in the dragon to control it.
So when Lusacan dies, the piece of Elgar'nan's soul in the dragon transfers to the closest owner of that soul. Which would be Vallira as she's nearby in the blight being used as a magic battery (willingly.)

I imagine Vallira could probably swing her bow like a blade, too. Add an arcane blade tip to the bow when she's swinging it or something.

And for all the hurt he caused Elgar'nan, he still offers Solas a place at his side. Because 1000 years of pain may sound like a lot but he was his brother for 10+ thousand or however many years.

I can't decide. "Doesn't care" might fit best but Val would care; probably only to find the source/reason for her kidnapping and take care of it then.

Hmm. That is a good one. My thought would be that his comment about Lusacan was too earnest.
In my HC Elgar'nan isn't as ego-centric as Solas is. The Egg paints him in a bad light and entraps him constantly, calling him a bully, when in reality he isn't. So this might be my headcanon bleeding into
