As a left wing farmer (we exist!) what amazes me is that this govt does not seem to talk to any voters. In my town, for eg, prices start at £380k. There are v few flats. We have developments going up all over but they're only 4/5 bed homes starting at 500k. What rural ppl want is affordable housing

It does but we need to be really careful how we proceed. Otherwise we will find that once a right is enshrined in law...laws can be changed....we should first of all issue guidance to the cps that women are not be prosecuted under this law unless there is overwhelming inarguable evidence

No it still isn't, economic growth...but for who? I think we have established by now that trickle down economics was so much nonsense. For yrs the Westminster bubble and economists have been peddling that line but have ignored the contribution of migrant labour dependency has had on wage stagnation

I agree his messaging is just terrible though. I genuinely am at a loss with this govt. There is not a single person/entity causing problems that he will stand up to. He just punches down all the time and then calls it pragmatism.

.....I'm trained to care for tracheotomies, give meds, work solo, use various equipment, I've a great deal of training/ experience in seizures and tube feeding. I earn £14.40 phr. Migrant carers with my skills will work for min wage. My payrise is directly linked to having to pay migrant carers more

thing is he is not wrong - I am a carer, q a skilled one. I have just received my first pay rise in 4 yrs, why? Because of cheap migrant labour. The care companies are making a fortune. Until last year migrant carers could be employed at much less than min wage legally.......

Its not economically illiterate, economically illiterate is allowing social care to become entirely staffed by migrant labour. Social Care private providers are making a fucking fortune out of cheap migrant labour, depressing sector wages and making sure we rely on nothing but cheap migrant labour

It's to replace Air Force 1 which is 30yrs old (end of life). He's waiting on Boeing to provide a new one, but they haven't so the cheapest interim fix is to buy 2nd hand something already fitted out to Head of State lvl. I don't like Trump but this story isn't really as it is being presented is it?

maybe "traditional labour values"...is a phrase just as reactionary and out of touch as "one nation conservatism". Neither work and both are clung to like some kind of rock when all they are is outdated shit we tried, that didn't work

I think its a good thing. Its relatively simple, doesn't require the giving away of territory etc and reels in the big orange lummox by his ego - we should get on with it
