I’m so proud of how far we’ve come, and saddened by what it took to get here, and the lives we lost on the way. The President may refuse to acknowledge #WorldAIDSDay, but no one can stop us from honoring our dead, the progress we’ve made as a community, and celebrating the lives saved.

Over 300 members of the trans/nonbinary/gender expansive community were lost to us due to anti-transgender violence and rhetoric this year around the globe. It’s highly likely that number is vastly undercounted. May they rest in power. #TDOR 🏳️‍⚧️🕊️

🏳️‍⚧️ A state law that outs trans and nonbinary students who are minors if they disclose their gender identity to school faculty or staff.

🏳️‍⚧️ A number of bills have passed with restrictions on student athletes.

🏳️‍⚧️ And, of course, horrible bathroom legislation.

🏳️‍⚧️ Measures protecting those who misgender trans and nonbinary people in schools. A state law passed recently that affects students, faculty, and staff.

🏳️‍⚧️ Supportive symbols like Pride flags are also under attack. Legislators have attempted to pass flag bans, but failed. Such measures have succeeded in places like the Tullahoma City school district.

🏳️‍⚧️ Supportive, inclusive public and school libraries are under attack. Often the focus is on books related to trans experience that get labelled as promoting "gender ideology." We have seen this phenomenon most recently in Sumner and Rutherford Counties.

To my father, both my grandfathers, to our LGBTQ+ veterans who served in silence, to Black and Brown families who served our country with far less rights than those they fought alongside and without recognition: Thank you. #VeteransDay 🇺🇸

Last physical therapy appointment for a while and Kim let me skip the grey weighted ball cause I cussed last time and Halloween is tomorrow. I have full use of my arm right now. There’s pain, but it’s not debilitating.

Doctor thinks we can heal it without surgery 🙌🏻
