So what was that whole amendment about when they are approving it?

Having all Mag 7 would be more interesting...

This idea is pretty dumb. If I get S&P 401(k) starting at age 1 but can't access until 60, even if I am in dire poverty, not that useful. And if you didn't need it wouldn't be a disincentive to invest in an IRA/401(k), since I already have one that I can't access until 60?

I mean it probably has a history from way back when. Probably not a new thing.

Did St. Paul ever doubt empathy, consider anti-semitic conspiracy theories, or try to silence pagan elites?
December 18, 2025 at 2:09 AM
If the Dems were "not moderate enough," the Dem margins in the Senate and House would be way worse....
December 18, 2025 at 1:23 AM
I don't even know if a completely different candidate starting in early 2023 could have overcome the inflation issue.
December 18, 2025 at 1:22 AM
Yeah, Matt Yglesias thinks this, but I hate to say it but inflation (out of Dems control, reducing it a little with a less-generous ARA would not work) and Biden's lack of vigor in campaigning and governing the last two years were the main issues....

You can make a ton of criticisms of Boomer parenting, but I sometimes wonder if Gen X and Millenial parenting styles are worse.

I don't think he is one of the bad guys. But he downplays AI data centers and crypto as causing higher energy prices and has too much faith that somehow permitting reform can be designed to be Republican or "anti-reneweable" proof.
December 17, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Also he just assumes that future Republicans will be cool with renewables; that is just not a reasonable assumption.
December 17, 2025 at 8:12 PM
I actually disagree with Gallegos that somehow permitting was the problem with the IRA; it reasonably takes a year or two to build out wind and solar. Trump not only took away the subsidies, but he killed the permitting for renewables.
December 17, 2025 at 8:11 PM
Yeah, I have this fear that Dems will need to pack the Supreme Court and Federal Courts to get anything done post 2028 on a variety of issues. I think Senate Dems like Gallegos and Schatz need to address this head-on.
December 17, 2025 at 8:02 PM
Ok thank!
December 17, 2025 at 7:47 PM
In hindsight, I am glad Senate Dems blocked permitting reform back under Biden, because Trump may had used it to expand fossil fuels. Does Gallegos address this sub-issue?
December 17, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Like even if you have some permitting reform that forbids the President for banning on Federal and non-Federal land solar and wind, I would be concerned that Trump or Vance etc. would flout the law and the Supreme Court would side with Trump et al.
December 17, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Yeah I am ok with getting rid of the EV tax credit from the old IRA (due to Elon), but keeping subsidies for solar, wind, and heat pumps. But does he address how "permitting reform" could mean under Republicans, "only for fossil fuels"?
December 17, 2025 at 7:43 PM
So are all oil tankers going in and out of Venezuela sanctioned? Or just a subset?
December 17, 2025 at 3:11 AM
The inflation and his decking mental acuity were the two main drivers of the loss in 2024. Even having a better communicator may not have worked…
December 16, 2025 at 9:47 PM
No I think it is both. The Right is more dangerous and you are an idiot for using a rigged and awful platform (bad algo, too many ads, not worth paying for). But you wouldn't realize that since you like being a pathetic simp on Joey Rogeine's show....
December 16, 2025 at 5:00 AM
No it bring out the best in us, like pointing out how pathetic and weak and ridiculous you were on Joey Rogeine's show.
December 16, 2025 at 4:57 AM
But your perspective of what "is effective" is laughable. You seem to think being mocked and laughed at on Joey Rogeine's show was some win for you. It was not; you just came across as a pathetic, stammering simp.
December 16, 2025 at 4:56 AM
And getting insulted by Joey Rogeine and acting weird, pedantic, and pathetic on his show will not help anything, contra what you believe you dipshit.
December 16, 2025 at 4:54 AM
Throwing Abrego Garcia to a torture camp will not win votes, which you seem to believe and want.
December 16, 2025 at 4:53 AM
I think MS Now, and probably the New York Times, think Trump is as bad as the folks on Bluesky. What do you mean the best way to beat him? He is not running again, him and his movement is deeply unpopular, etc.
