I’m sorry to read this. It feels like they just want you to go back in your box so they can bury their heads in the sand. Easier for you to ‘stop making this difficult’ than for them to acknowledge harsh realities. Everyone hates a pedophile… in theory.

Yep. Over 6 years waiting to hear whether there would be an arrest, just to be told (like every other CSA survivor) that there’s not enough evidence. Six torturous years while the perpetrator stalked, harassed and bullied. Still trying to get an effective AVO out on him but it’s bankrupting us.

Or if the rapist is an athlete of some type, apparently.

I do like that they are planning on listening to children of CSA. It’s just so sad that the first response of an accused child abuser, is to paint the victim as a liar.
This one act is a powerful deterrent for a victim to continue to speak up.
Let’s hope these studies are the start of change.

That is incredible. 1 in 10?? From my own experience, I imagine that’s possible, but my goodness, it’s heartbreaking.
People seem to accept the fact these crimes exist but can’t comprehend that this means, statistically, we all know a perpetrator.
Until we accept this, children remain at risk
